Turbidity is one of the most important parameters used to determine the quality of drinking water. Once considered as a mostly aesthetic characteristic of drinking water, significant evidence exists that controlling turbidity is a competent safeguard against pathogens. In natural water, turbidity measurements are taken to gauge general water quality and its compatibility in applications involving aquatic organisms. The monitoring and treatment or wastewater was once solely based on the control of turbidity. Currently, the measurement of turbidity at the end of the wastewater treatment process is necessary to verify that the values are within regulatory standards.

Turbidity of water is an optical property that causes light to be scattered and absorbed, rather than transmitted. The scattering of light that passes through a liquid is primarily caused by the suspended solids present. The higher the turbidity, the greater the amount of scattered light. Even a very pure liquid will scatter light to a certain degree, as no solution will have zero turbidity.

Portable Turbidity Mater for Water has a powerful calibration function that compensates for variation in light intensity. The calibration can be done using the supplied calibration solutions or user-prepared standards. A two-point turbidity calibration can be performed by using the supplied (0, 100NTU) standards.

Main Function of Key Board

Switch: Boot and shutdown.

Menu: By choosing the measurement, calibration, setting the instrument to operate.

Switching: Select the measurement mode by switching. In the correction mode, press the “Switch” button to force quit.

How to use

1. Turn on the power switch of the instrument.
2. Wipe the water marks and fingerprints on the sample bottle with a lint free soft cloth, soak it in an easy to scrub detergent and then rinse it with water: prepare a turbidity standard solution for calibration.
3. Preparation of zero turbidity water and calibration solution.
4. Collect a representative sample in a good container.
5. Start the measurement and see the test results.

Notice

The Portable Turbidity Meter is a combination of photoelectric precision measuring instruments. The instructions should be read carefully before operation, and corrective measures should be taken to obtain accurate results.

• Environmental working conditions must be met.
• The measuring cell must be clean and dry for a long time, and dust must not be covered on the shielding cover when not in use.
• In humid climates, the startup time must be extended.
• The test solution should be carefully poured along the sample bottle to prevent bubbles from affecting the measurement accuracy.
• Recalibrate after replacing the sample bottle or repairing.
• Non-professional maintenance engineers, please do not open the instrument for maintenance.
