Surface Roughness Tester
Our portable surface roughness meter device measures the smoothness (degree of roughness) of the surface of a target. The roughness tester is a portable measuring instrument for the determination of surface roughness according to Ra, Rz, Rq and Rt in just one device. The small roughness tester is specially designed for fast measuring of roughness.
It has high accuracy, a wide measuring range, is easy to operate, portable, and stable. This device can be widely used in various metal and nonmetal surface finish testing, the instrument is a sensor host integration pocket instrument, and with handheld, it is more suitable for use in the production site.
How This Device Work
The roughness tester works according to the same piezoelectric micro probe principle like the highly accurate laboratory measuring instruments. The easy handling of the roughness tester as well as the high repetitive accuracy characterizes this device. The roughness tester scans the surface within seconds and shows digitally, according to the preselected cut-off length, either the value Ra, Rz, Rq or Rt.

The large OLED color display shows either roughness parameter Ra or Rz at the touch of a button, combined with the selected cut-off length. Using a high-speed DSP processor for data processing and calculation, measurement and computation speed is greatly improved.
One key button for testing the surface. This one key button gives users efficiency and is easy to use. This device contains a sensor probe with a protection door, the effective protection of the sensor probe ensures the accuracy of measurement.
The control panel shows the setting and measurement for testing. The external calibration of roughness values is possible by means of a special CAL button, which makes adjustment of this instrument very easy. A beep signal informs the user of each individual measurement status when ready.
There are two charging methods, a dedicated charger, or a computer USB port for charging, which can work while charging, and is convenient and fast. The automatic shutdown function and low power consumption software and hardware design make the instrument work longer.
This device was created with a case that looks very professional looks and is easy to portable. Users are able to bring it everywhere and this device is able to use multiple workplaces.
Rz (average roughness)
The average roughness Rz is the arithmetical mean out of the biggest single roughness depth of
Ra (arithmetical mean deviation)
Ra is the generally acknowledged and internationally recognized roughness parameter. It is the arithmetical mean deviation with absolute values of profile deviations within sample area.
Rt (maximum roughness depth)
The maximum roughness depth Rt is the distance between the highest and deepest point of the measuring area.
Rq (square average roughness value)
Rq is the square medium value of all ordinate values within the single measuring area. Rq
